2010 UAV Outback Challenge

The 2010 UAV Outback Challenge is a competition put on by both private and public partners in Kingaroy, Queensland, Australia.  It takes place on the week of Sept. 27, 2010.  Here is a link to the website for the competition http://www.uavoutbackchallenge.com.au/2010/.  A team from the University of North Dakota (UND) is traveling to Kingaroy to compete in this challenge.  Our team name is Eagle Eye and we are made up of a group of electrical and mechanical engineering students.  Eagle Eye is competing specifically in the Search and Rescue competition.  The goal of this mission is to fly our UAV out to search for "Outback Joe", a dummy and find his GPS location.  After we have the location of "Joe" we will drop a water bottle to him.  Eagle Eye is a team made up of members of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Engineering (UASE) lab at UND.  To see more about UASE check out our website http://www.uase.und.edu/.  Our plan is to use this blog to update everyone on how the competition is going while we are at it.  We will try to post an update every day at the competition and possibly a post or two more before we leave.
